Yesterday, British scientists have found a new species of stegosaurus which presumably the oldest ever found. The group of scientists from the British Natural History Museum conducted the investigation of the 168 Million year old remains of this dinosaur that has protruding bones from it's spine. According to the scientists, these remains are one of the oldest remains known of stegosaurus species, as most of them date well after the Jurassic period, this one dates further back. Found in the Middle Atlas mountains of Morocco. The team's researcher leader says in a press statement:
"Most known stegosaurs date from far later in the Jurassic period, making this the oldest definite stegosaur described and helping to increase our understanding of the evolution of this group of dinosaurs," - Susannah Maidment
